The cam controllers perform a control function based on the position of the machine or in a time-controlled mode. The function can be compared to a disk cam, in which the on and off points for each output are determined according to the sections of the circle. They are used wherever a fast and precise control operation is required depending on the fixed connection to the machine position, for example, on packaging machines or glue application devices. The position is determined by a rotating encoder connected to the device. Programming is carried out either using the keyboard and display integrated in the front, or using a connected PC. A significant advantage of EPR and EPC devices is the ability to optimize the switching points of operating machines and compensate for the delay time of connected actuators depending on speed (compensation for downtime).
